Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn will meet in a smaller ring than standard this weekend on DAZN Pay-Per-View, per the latter's request for their grudge match stipulations.
The pair top The Ring's Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, April 26, bringing their simmering two-and-a-half-year rivalry to the boil.
But the pair will trade blows in an 18-foot ring, smaller than the traditional 20-foot size, after Benn requested so in his contract negotiations for the blockbuster encounter.
Speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of the seismic encounter, the latest in a family lineage that started with their fathers, the star revealed he asked specifically for a reduction.
"The only thing I asked for in my contract was an 18-foot ring," he said. "Coming in there to steamroll him? Of course I am. You think I'm coming in there to muck about?
"If you think you're faster than me, prove it. You think you're stronger than me, prove it. You think you're smarter than me, prove it," he added. "Come meet me in the middle."
The reduction in overall space echoes comments made by promoter Eddie Hearn that the two's bout will be a "wild shootout", with limited space for either to elude their foe.
Benn may well believe this could help level the playing field against Eubank Jr., having jumped up two divisions from welterweight to middleweight for the all-British battle.
The latter also is subject to a rehydration clause preventing additional gains following Friday's weigh-in, which the star has admitted makes for "uncharted territory."
