The year may not have come to an end, but already boxing plans are being made for 2026.
One eagerly anticipated moment will be the start of Zuffa Boxing, led by UFC president Dana White.
After making the UFC a leading promotion in Mixed Martial Arts, White will be looking to do the same in boxing.
With a television deal announced on Monday, it has become clearer what Zuffa Boxing's offering will look like in 2026.
As part of the recently signed television deal, 12 shows will be broadcast with the number expected to grow further down the line.
Paramount+ signed an exclusive broadcast deal with Zuffa Boxing starting in January.
The shows will be streamed initially on Paramount+, but there is a possibility select events will be broadcast on CBS, the most-watched broadcast network in the United States.
The four major sanctioning bodies, the IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO are often maligned by the boxing world.
As a result, Zuffa Boxing is making a statement when it comes to the sanctioning bodies and in an interview with Inside the Ring's Max Kellerman, UFC CEO Dana White announced that the sanctioning bodies will not be recognised and instead will create a Zuffa Boxing title.
"There will be a Zuffa belt, then there will be a Ring belt. I will not recognise any of the sanctioning bodies," White said.
By not recognising boxing's sanctioning bodies, Zuffa Boxing will be creating and using its own rankings, and White is confident that these rankings will be used by boxing fans for years to come.
"Once you make it to the top five in my events, in the way we build them, there is no doubt who the best five guys in the world are in that weight class."
The full fighter roster has not been revealed, but it's likely that Zuffa Boxing will sign prospects and attempt to turn them into major stars.
One name which could join the promotion is Irish super welterweight Callum Walsh. He boasts a 15-0 record, with 11 of those wins coming by way of knockout.
Walsh has been a frequent name on previous boxing bills promoted by White and he has already amassed a sizable fanbase.
