Eubank Jr. vs Benn 2 - only on DAZN PPV - Saturday

Conor Benn's promoter Eddie Hearn has admitted that his fighter and the rest of the team underestimated the first fight with Chris Eubank Jr

Following a chaotic build-up which saw Eubank Jr. slap Benn with an egg during a press conference, the pair put on a dazzling display of the sweet science at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last April.

Eubank Jr. would win by unanimous decision following the 12-round war, and the pair are set to do battle once again this Saturday, exclusively live on DAZN PPV

Fight week for the eagerly anticipated rematch got underway on Tuesday with the Grand Arrivals, and Hearn is confident that Benn will not be overcome by the occasion this time around.

"I love what I see, it's totally different this time," Hearn told DAZN

"At this point in the last fight, we were keeping him calm, he was definitely nervous going into the fight. We probably underestimated the magnitude of the event.

"The event itself was so special, the fight was so special, and I think as a young fighter, he would have learnt from that night and how he would improve will come to light on Saturday night."

Conor Benn's calm demeanour puts him in a good position to win rematch

So far, in comparison to the first fight, the proceedings have been civil between Eubank Jr. and Benn.

The launch press conference for the rematch was heated, but that was mostly between Eubank Jr. and Benn's promoter Hearn as a result of the claims by Eubank Jr. about his ambulance being 'blocked' from leaving the North London venue.

Benn's downfall in the first encounter was his all-guns-blazing approach. All the pent-up energy gave him a fast start, but as the contest progressed, he became more and more fatigued, allowing Eubank Jr. to gain a foothold and dominate to secure the win on the judges' scorecards.

From the media appearances so far, Benn is enjoying the occasion. The first face-off with Eubank Jr. on Monday saw him attempt to make conversation with his rival, while at the Grand Arrivals, Benn was asked about giving Eubank Jr. some parenting tips after the recent announcement that he will be the father to twins.

There is no doubt tensions will rise and possibly boil over as the fight edges ever closer, but if Benn can keep his emotions in check come the opening bell, he is in a good position to perhaps get revenge over Eubank Jr.
