MANCHESTER, England - Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez is preparing for his first contest of a four-fight deal with Riyadh Season which is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 3.

If Alvarez is successful in this bout, the Mexican is expected to face Terence Crawford in a fight for the ages later this year in Las Vegas before two more contests in Riyadh in 2026.

One contender for one those dates could be British star Hamzah Sheeraz.

After drawing with WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames in February, it's expected that Sheeraz will move up to 168lbs for his next outing with promoter Frank Warren telling DAZN News and the rest of the media that an announcement is imminent.

"He’ll be due out in the summer," Warren said

"We’re going to announce our next raft of shows. We’ve got about four or five shows that we’re announcing and they are brilliant. One we will be announcing on Monday."

When asked about whether a meeting with Alvarez is possible for Sheeraz, Warren is confident that it is likely to happen, but only if the 25-year-old can put a run of wins together.

"He could do that, but he’s got to come back," Warren continued.

"He got that draw and obviously struggled at the weight. It’s up to him, he’s got to go out, keep winning and hopefully get in the ring against Canelo."

Warren was speaking ahead of Queensberry's debut show on DAZN this coming Saturday which will see heavyweights Joe Joyce and Filip Hrgovic meet in the main event

Tensions are already beginning to spoil over in fight week with Jeamie TKV flipping a table following a heated verbal spar with David Adeleye ahead of their vacant British heavyweight title fight
