Food fight! Chris Eubank Jr attacks Conor Benn with raw egg
The war of words between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn just got messier.
The fighters, who have a longstanding feud, will meet in the ring on April 26, live worldwide on DAZN . But before they step into the ring, the pair met on stage on Tuesday in Manchester for the first pre-fight press conference, and after the requisite trash talk they stood face-to-face in a staredown that won't soon be forgotten.
As both men faced each other, words were exchanged as expected. The next move was one that nobody could have expected however, as Eubank appeared to slap his rival with a raw egg that he had been hiding in his left hand.
Security immediately jumped in to separate the men, and a furious Benn could be heard yelling "get off me!" to the personnel who had physically restrained him from getting to Eubank in retaliation.
No more came of the physical altercation but Benn's promoter, Matchroom Boxing's Eddie Hearn, called the slap a "b—h move" and admitted that he initially feared Eubank was holding a glass in his hand.
"All I'm saying now is all bets are off,' Hearn told the DAZN broadcast immediately after the incident. "Anything goes."

Taking to social media afterwards, Eubank alluded to Benn's adverse test finding that forced the cancellation of their original fight date in 2022.
"Apparently egg contamination was the reason for his two failed drugs tests," Eubank wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "So I contaminated him with an egg."
Eubank and Benn are due to face off again on Thursday at a press conference in London.
