Sam Jones believes Jack Catterall will have too much for Harlem Eubank despite the former stepping up a weight class as he seeks to move on from a second career loss.
Defeat to Arnold Barboza Jr. in February has hurt the former's chances of another shot at a major light welterweight strap and now he moves up to the welterweight division.
The unbeaten Eubank has faced several of Catterall's old foes along his path to a 21-0 professional record thus far, and will take an acid test against the experienced star.
But manager Jones, who looks after the Manchester man, believes it could well be a bridge too far for the younger man as he looks to cement his own title credentials.
"Credit to Harlem for taking the fight, because it is a monumental step up for him," he said. "I don't believe he's going to be ready for the test, but I respect him.
"It really is a brilliant fight. We want to give people fights the British public will care about. Jack and Harlem have a responsibility to make this a good fight.
"We don't want to see someone burgle a win. Harlem's just watched his cousin take part in one of the best fights I've ever seen,
"He's under immense pressure as well. Of course, Jack is, but both have a responsibility to give the British public a cracker of a fight and I'm certain of it."
Matchroom's Frank Smith echoed those comments and praised the speed at which the blockbuster encounter was put together for Manchester's AO Arena.
"I think it's a tremendous fight," he addded. "Domestic fights are what people buy into and the kind of fights we need to make to keep the sport building in the UK.
"There were discussions about whether this was the right route to go, but within two or three days, it was made. That does't happen always in boxing.
"This was a fight both wanted, and it's perfect for both of them. If they get the win here, it sets them up for a big opportunity. These are the kind of nights we need to make."
