Ahead of his latest test, DAZN News looks back at five crucial bouts for Wardley and examines how each one has led to this moment.

Vs. Simon Vallily (August 2020)

Slap-bang in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, with eight fights and eight wins, Wardley got his first shot at a domestic belt.

Set against the 2010 Commonwealth Games gold-medal victor at Matchroom HQ, the pair battled for the English heavyweight title.

Wardley didn't need long to succeed. A ruthless third-round TKO flattened his opponent and earned him his first milestone triumph.

Vs. Nathan Gorman (November 2022)

Two years later. with a string of undercard performances at arena shows, Wardley had the chance to go one better for the British crown.

While Dillian Whyte and Jermaine Franklin went the distance in the main event, the star took on a foe who previously bid for the title in 2019.

As with Vallily, Wardley did not need long to get the job done. He closed out his first twelve-round contest inside three with another TKO.

Vs. David Adeleye (October 2023)

Save a lone trip to Gibraltar, this marked Wardley's first major overseas test, thrown into the cauldron of a Riyadh Season blockbuster card.

Adeleye, widely tipped as a future British champion, arrived to challenge for the Lonsdale Belt and the vacant Commonwealth title too.

Wardley proved a class above however, landing nearly twice as many power punches before dropping him in the seventh to help seal victory.

Vs. Frazer Clarke (October 2024)

Returning to Riyadh off the back of his first major career setback, Wardley had been held to a bruising draw at The O2 by his rival in March.

A split-decision reflected a tight bout, and many wondered if Clarke might be able to carve out a greater advantage the second time around.

Wardley answered his critics with an emphatic no, needing just one round to put his opponent down, in perhaps his most savage turn to date.

Vs. Justis Huni (June 2025)

Originally due to face Jarrell Miller, many felt Wardley would subsequently make quick work of the relatively unknown Australian substitute.

Instead, Huni took him into deep waters amid awful weather at his Portman Road homecoming, threatening to ruin a home turf fairytale.

But Wardley ultimately prevailed with a now-famous finish - a monster right hand in the tenth round that floored his foe and secured the win.
