The former took a majority decision victory at Manchester's Co-op Live, despite failing to outland his opponent in a bout where he frequently appeared flat and devoid of ideas.

Parker, contesting the biggest fight of his career thus far, appeared primed to take the win after the bout went the distance, having worked the ring superbly to his advantage.

But a tendancy to clinch in the middle, combined with an increasingly higher workrate from his rival as the contest wore on, saw Buatsi seal the win to boos from the crowd.
