Zach Parker is set to make an appeal to the WBA following a controversial loss to Joshua Buatsi on Saturday night in Manchester.

Parker's light heavyweight clash with the former Olympian headlined a Queensberry card at the Co-op Live featuring a number of prominent British names at 175lbs.

There was a lot riding on this contest with the winner in prime position to face the winner of the WBC light heavyweight title fight between David Benavidez and Anthony Yarde.

The 10-round bout failed to deliver much entertainment, but to many of those watching, it looked like Parker had done enough to inflict the second successive loss of Buatsi's career.

Instead, two of the judges scored the fight in Buatsi's favour whilst the other called it a draw

Parker struggled to hide his frustration and the fallout continued during an appearance on Jim White and Simon Jordan's show on talkSPORT

Zach Parker to make appeal to WBA after Joshua Buatsi loss

When asked about what the future holds for his career, Parker revealed that he is looking to make an appeal to the WBA as a result of the WBA international light heavyweight title being on the line.

His reasoning for this move being that he wants to keep this disputed result at the forefront of the boxing world before it quickly becomes a distant memory.

"We’re thinking about putting an appeal in to the WBA to have a look at it," Parker said.

"But you’ve seen nothing goes anywhere with these appeals, that’s why we’re talking about it on here so it doesn’t get brushed under the carpet.

"Next week everyone will be talking about another show and this will be long gone."

One prominent figure which is yet to comment on the result is Frank Warren who was promoting the show on Saturday night.

While the 73-year-old was not ringside at the Co-op Live, Parker believes that he will give his verdict on the contest sooner rather than later.

"From what I heard, Frank is going to talk about it on Tuesday to say what he thought about it," Parker continued.

Parker's loss to Buatsi was not the only disputed result on the card with some believing Liam Cameron was wrong to be declared the winner against Troy Jones.

Cameron managed to beat Jones by unanimous decision, this was despite a poor first half which saw Jones dominate and Cameron seemingly not coming into his own until the latter stages. Two of the ringside judges scored the fight 96-94, and the other 97-93 in Cameron's favour.
