Keyshawn Davis is fresh off winning the WBO lightweight world championship in scintillating fashion with a fourth-round knockout of Denys Berinchyk in February.

Now, "The Businessman" will look to record a homecoming title defense when he clashes with a dangerous Edwin De Los Santos at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday night.

Davis (13-0 with 1 no contest, 9 knockouts) is facing against a De Los Santos (16-2, 14 KOs) who is looking to rebound from a highly-criticized performance in a unanimous decision loss to Shakur Stevenson from November 2023.

Here, DAZN News analyzes whether the champion or challenger has the edge across three key categories heading into this bout.

Boxing Styles

At 26, Keyshawn Davis is a ring general who works behind the jab superbly, controlling the distance and peppering opponents within that range.

He also has the instincts to abandon his sweet science boxing skills for straight out fighting when needed as well.

On defense, he consistently proves to be agile and slippery, making him every bit of a formidable WBO lightweight world champion.

That style will be up against the pressuring, smothering fighting of Edwin De Los Santos whose aggression should be turned up to the max.

Power: Davis

Power

Davis has punching power as he has been able to work slashing angles in unloading big hits toward three knockouts in his last four fights.

De Los Santos, however, can claim to be a legit knockout artist as 14 of his 16 victories have come by the way of stoppage.

That De Los Santos often produces a barrage of power punches leading to knockouts makes the Dominican fighter all the more dangerous.

Edge: De Los Santos

Mental Warfare

Having a homecoming fight can be daunting as fighters sometimes feel the pressure of delivering in front of their hometown fans.

Davis, though, just won the WBO lightweight world title less than four months ago and this fight could serve as his homecoming formal inauguration as the new 135-pound king. Plus, another resounding statement victory could push him to bigger fights ahead.

That is the way Davis should be looking at this fight.

De Los Santos, on the other hand, must rebound from the stinker against Shakur Stevenson in a fight in which neither man registered double digits in punches for each of the 12 rounds.

So he has that incentive, plus he endured a scary blood clot ordeal and will be looking to pounce on his second opportunity to become world champion, giving him extra urgency.

This category is the most neck-and-neck, with Davis eking it out.

Edge: Davis

Who has the edge in Davis vs De Los Santos?

DAZN News has this 2-1 in favor of Davis, who could produce a boxing masterclass ... or have his homecoming ruined by a punishing, and dangerous, De Los Santos.

If Davis is going to unlock bigger money bouts at 135 or 140 pounds, consider this an opportunity for "The Businessman" to close the deal.
