Malik Scott names the British heavyweight who 'held his own' against Oleksandr Usyk

Fabio Wardley will continue one of boxing's most fascinating stories on Saturday night when he takes on Joseph Parker, exclusively live on DAZN PPV. 

Parker and Wardley, who hold the interim titles with the WBO and WBA, respectively, will battle it out to be next in line for undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk at the O2 Arena in London. 

For someone with no amateur experience, Wardley is someone who should not be in this position. However, with raw knockout power, he has yet to lose a professional bout and is passing every test put in his way.

Parker is a former world champion and will be the favourite to triumph, but if Wardley's knockout performance against Justis Huni in June was anything to go by, he can turn any fight on its head. 

If Wardley does get his hand raised, there will immediately be questions as to how he will fare when sharing the ring with a pound-for-pound great.

While the consensus will is that Usyk would triumph, former Deontay Wilder trainer Malik Scott has claimed that Wardley could be a stern test for the Ukrainian after witnessing a sparring session between the pair. 

"Me and Fabio spent time in Ukraine together, boxing Olexander Usyk. With next to no amateur fights, he was boxing Usyk," Scott told Jackpot City Casino. 

"And he wasn't just boxing him, he was holding his own, and he was getting hit with shots and coming right back, and I was impressed with him."
