On this day in 2009 - Manny Pacquiao destroys Ricky Hatton, but can Ryan Garcia or Devin Haney make a similar impact on May 2?

Numerous high-profile fight figures will be in action tonight, live on DAZN , as Times Square hosts a huge show featuring some major names . 

16 years to the day since Ricky Hatton was sensationally knocked out by Manny Pacquiao, several big hitters will try and hog the spotlight in New York City aiming for a similar outcome. 

Back in 2009, Hatton and Pacquiao met in one of the year’s biggest fights as they battled for supremacy at 140lbs. 

Many believed the fight would be a closely run affair, but it was clear Pacquiao was the better fighter in the opening session as he began quicky before bulldozing Hatton to the canvas on two occasions. 

In the second round, Hatton was more cautious as he neglected his reckless approach, but he could not avoid a big left hand that knocked him out and ended the contest immediately.
