Manny Pacquiao has claimed his shock rematch with Floyd Mayweather is “almost” agreed.
Reports emerged on Monday that the two boxing legends were exploring a potential fight over a decade on from their first meeting.
Mayweather, 48, has not had a competitive bout in eight years, while Pacquiao, 46, returned from a four-year layoff to draw with WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios in July.
He was expected to chase another world title shot in early 2026, but Pacquiao has now revealed talks are progressing well over a second clash with Mayweather instead.

“(We are) almost agreeing with each other, but there are a few details we are still negotiating,” Pacquiao told Seconds Out.
Pacquiao also explained how both teams are in constant communication, with the proposed rematch likely to take place in Las Vegas – the same location as their first fight in May 2015.
Mayweather beat Pacquiao on points when they faced each other 10 years ago in the most financially lucrative contest in boxing history.
Pacquiao subsequently complained about a shoulder injury that hampered him but is more optimistic about his chances if he gets back in the ring with Mayweather.
“It’s very interesting because right now I don’t have a shoulder problem, so it’s a good fight,” Pacquiao added. “I’m sure the world of boxing will be excited if the rematch will happen soon.”
Mayweather announced last month that he will be facing heavyweight icon Mike Tyson in an exhibition bout next year.
Pacquiao admitted it is now up to Mayweather as to whether he follows through with the exhibition against Tyson or faces him in a “real fight”.
The Filipino star also confirmed he has been in discussions about his own potential exhibition bout against former three-weight world champion Vasyl Lomachenko.
The Ukrainian announced his retirement earlier this year but could now be tempted back to the ring if Pacquiao and Mayweather fail to come to an agreement.
Speaking about Mayweather’s options, Pacquiao said: “He has his own decision so I cannot prevent him from fighting Mike Tyson.
“There’s also a negotiation with Lomachenko for an exhibition. But the Mayweather thing that we are negotiating right now is a real fight.”
