Ohara Davies will return to action this week just months after many had believed the former world level contender had retired from the sport.
At the start of 2024, Davies had been hoping to become world champion, but two stoppage losses to Ismael Barroso and Adam Azim put more miles on Davies’ clock and it appeared likely that he would never fight again .
That will change on Friday night when Davies travels to Ghana to face Mohamed Aliseni on a show being promoted by Amir Khan, live on DAZN .
At the peak of his powers, Davies was a formidable fighter who was able to score impressive stoppages over excellent fighters such as Derry Mathews and Lewis Ritson but pushing onto a higher level has always caused him problems.
Before his disastrous 2024 got underway, Davies had tasted defeat against Josh Taylor and Jack Catterall, but his desire to reach the top has rarely waned.
Can Davies breathe life back into his career when he fights in Africa? Or will his return not go to plan?
Elsewhere on the bill, former cruiserweight world title challenger, Andrew Tabiti will be in action, and he will want to impress when he clashes with Jacob Dickson.
