Outstanding amateur with Olympic gold medal falls short in world title quest in only his seventh fight

Raymond Muratalla kept his IBF title following a thrilling battle with Andy Cruz in Las Vegas . 

The American star was a decent sized underdog beforehand, but he produced a strong performance to put pressure on Cruz throughout. 

At the end of 12 absorbing rounds, Muratalla was given the verdict via majority decision, but both boxers left with their heads held high.
