Salita Promotions has announced that it has arranged a middleweight unification fight between Olivia Curry and Kaye Scott.
The move, which was announced this afternoon on Instagram, will see the two fighters meet in the ring in an as-yet-announced fight to be shown on DAZN.
The firm said: “We are proud to be one of the leading forces in women’s boxing, and are excited to continue elevating the game.”
The fight between the pair, said Salita Promotions on Instagram, will be for the unified WBA and WBC middleweight titles. According to the WBA and the WBC, both of its female middleweight titles are vacant.
However, the WBA does list Curry at #7 in its rankings with Scott at #12. Meanwhile, Scott is rated at #3 with the WBC, with Curry at #10.
Scott, 4-1 (0), hails from Sydney, Australia and has been a professional boxer since November 2023. Most recently, she lost for the first time in a bout against Desley Robinson in Sydney, being outpointed over ten rounds for the vacant IBF title.
As an amateur, Scott represented Australia in numerous amateur competitions, including the World Championships and the Commonwealth Games.
Hailing from Iowa but now living in Chicago, Curry, 7-2-1 (2), has been a professional since 2021. Her two losses have come against Karina Avila Ortiz in 2021 and Shadasia Green in 2023. She last fought in April 2024, when she was held to a six-round draw again Melody Popravak in Miami.
Curry, meanwhile, carves out a dual career as a documentary filmmaker.
Before Curry-Scott takes place, Salita Promotions will host a show on 26 July at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit where Claressa Shields will face Lani Daniels for the female heavyweight championship. That event will be shown on DAZN, along with a 6 June card from the Turning Stone Resort Casino during the weekend of inductions to this year’s International Boxing Hall of Fame.
