Shocking decision from BBBoC in Fabio Wardley's stoppage of Joseph Parker
The British Boxing Board of Control will not be investigating the referee’s performance following Fabio Wardley’s stoppage victory over Joseph Parker last month.
In a gruelling contest between two in-form heavyweights on October 25, Howard Foster jumped in to save Parker from further punishment in the eleventh round with Wardley on the attack.

There was outrage on social media following the stoppage, with many pointing out that Parker remained on his feet under heavy attack and still looked clear headed. The controversy was heightened by the fact Parker was ahead on two of the three scorecards going into that round.
However, BBBoC general secretary Robert Smith pointed out that it was late in the contest and that made Foster’s intervention understandable.
Smith told BoxingScene: “If that had been the first or second round and it was the first time that Parker was hurt it’s a different matter and a different story.
“But I thought the stoppage was bang on. It was a long and gruelling fight, Parker had been hurt several times, and was not really throwing back.”
