Tyson Fury has teased a potential bout with Fabio Wardley in 2026, suggesting the star has a major defence booked.

But 'The Gypsy King' stresses he will not push on a bout with Anthony Joshua after the latter's tragedy in Nigeria.

Fury announced his return from retirement at the start of January, with expectations he would pursue his rival at last.

But Joshua's involvement in a fatal car accident that killed two of his friends last December has halted any plans.

Instead, Fury appears set to pivot towards WBO champion Wardley, revealing that the star has his next fight as well.

The latter dethroned Joseph Parker as interim belt holder in October, before he was elevated after Oleksand Usyk vacated the strap.

"Let's see how I am looking in my return," Fury wrote on Instagram. "Then, later in 2026, this would be a good option.

"To try and become three-time heavyweight champion, but] Fabio Wardley has a hard fight himself coming up soon.

"I know the fight you guys all want, but at this time, I won't say his name out of respect. He is in mouring [right now].

"But if he is not going to continue in boxing, I'd like Big Fab as a big test. This would be also a massive spectacle."

Wardley, who was most recently linked to Derek Chisora, has repeatedly been open to a clash with Fury this year.

Both men are under the Queensberry Promotions banner with Frank Warren and would likely be set for a stadium scrap if so.
