One more sleep until Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois meet in the centre of the ring on Saturday at Wembley Stadium in London, England, for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, live on DAZN PPV.
That is because the fight is now official as both Usyk and Dubois had no issues getting to the scales and weighing in on Friday. Dubois stepped on the scale first and came in atĀ 243.8 pounds. Usyk was next and tipped the scales at a career-high weight of 227.3 pounds.Ā
Usyk and Dubois then went face-to-face with fireworks shooting up in front of them. Neither guy backed down as each had an intense look in their eyes as they get ready to lock horns one more time.Ā
Dubois (22-1, 21 KOs) is dialledĀ in ahead of Saturday's battle and is ready to bringĀ all four belts to his native countrymen.
"Iām locked in. Iām focused. I canāt wait," Dubois said after the weigh-in.
When asked if he planned to exact revenge for Usyk's actions in August 2023, when he lost by ninth-round stoppage,Ā Dubois wouldn't take the bait, but he did make a guarantee.
"Iām going to win by any means necessary," Dubois said.
Usyk (23-0, 14 KOs) understands what it would mean to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion and to accomplish the feat for the third time across two weight classes.
"Itās a great opportunity for my people and for my country," Usyk said.
