A London rivalry is renewed on Wednesday as Chelsea and Arsenal are set to square off in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

For Chelsea, this game will be the first big test under new head coach Liam Rosenior, who took over last week and led the Blues to a 5-1 victory over EFL Championship side Charlton Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup over the weekend. 

It was anything but happy times for Chelsea before that win however, as they were winless in their last five Premier League games and have dropped to eighth in the standings. As such, this week's venture into cup obligations comes at a welcome time for the Blues.

With that being said, a match against Arsenal is a tall task regardless of the competition it comes in. The Gunners continue to lead the Premier League, are in first place in the league phase of the Champions League, and are also still alive in both the FA Cup and Carabao Cup. 

Mikel Arteta's men have rung off nine matches unbeaten and will look to extend that run to 10 against their city rivals.
