It's that time of the year when individual accolades will be awarded after an eventful Premier League season.
It's expected that Liverpool's title-winning heroes will sweep the board when it comes to winning the big awards, with Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk amongst the favourites to be named Player of the Season.
However, not according to Glen Johnson. The former defender, who spent six years at Anfield, has named someone outside of Merseyside as his nomination for the season's best player.
Speaking to TG Casino, Johnson revealed that his vote would go to one of Arsenal's heroes from their run to the Champions League semi-finals.
“There are a few candidates for Player of the Season, but I think I’d go with Declan Rice,” he said.
“I can’t remember the last time he played badly. Even when he’s not at his best, he’s still very effective in the game.
"After what he’s done recently in the Champions League against Real Madrid, stepping up when his team needed it most, he’s kicked on and risen to the next level.
“I know that often the Player of the Season goes to the top goal scorers, but I think if I was picking a team of the season, his name would be the first on the team sheet because he’s an excellent all-round player.
"He works hard, is a leader, and chips in with crucial goals and assists, which is everything you want in a central midfielder.”

While Rice gets his nod for Player of the Season, the ex-England full-back has also named his Manager of the Season, heaping praise on one of the campaign's surprise teams.
Adding, “Nuno Espirito Santo should win Manager of the Season. He has done a great job, especially with what he’s working with at Nottingham Forest. It’s no fluke either, he was brilliant at Wolves too.
"There’s such a big difference between the Premier League and the Championship, and even between the bottom and the top of the league.
“The fact that Forest have come up from the Championship, survived and now don’t look out of place at the top end of the Premier League is incredibly impressive – I can’t think of any teams off the top of my head that have done that, which is a testament to how good of a job he’s done.”
