Manchester United will head into this weekend's Manchester derby under the charge of yet another new name, after Michael Carrick was named the club's new head coach on Tuesday.
The former Old Trafford midfielder has been given the role until the end of the season, and replaces the interim boss Darren Fletcher, who oversaw United's last two outings following the sacking of Ruben Amorim.

Carrick, who was sacked by Championship side Middlesbrough last summer, now gets his shot at proving he could be the man for the future beyond this campaign as the club's permanent manager.
Several names have been linked with the post long-term, including former England boss Gareth Southgate, Oliver Glasner and Luis Enrique.
Yet, it was the choice of Red legend Jaap Stam, his pick would be a former Premier League gaffer, currently impressing with Marseille in Ligue 1.
“Roberto De Zerbi – he’s got the right character and mentality for Manchester United," Stam exclusively told DAZN News, thanks to Covers.com World Cup betting team.
"He’s shown his ability in the Premier League with Brighton. And he’s shown what he can do with a young team, with younger players, how he can impose his philosophy and style of play.
“He can adapt his style of play too – he’s not only focused on one thing. He plays in different ways, depending on the opposition, to either create an advantage or make it very difficult for the opposition.
“If you look at the way his current Marseille side is playing, he’s doing very well, playing very good football. So that’s why I think he can do very well for United too.
"He can build a team, which is what is required at United, to create something new. De Zerbi can do that, he fits the bill.”

Before anyone new can get their feet under the table, there is a job for Carrick, and that's to try and salvage something from a season where it sees United with little to play for, despite it only being January.
With no European competition this year and having been dumped out of both cups, there is just a top four finish to focus on for the remainder of the campaign.
However, Stam says it could just be enough to get the squad playing to a system that suits them and boost the club's confidence ahead of next term.
Adding, “Manchester United can still end this season well, if they can change to a system which better suits and is more familiar to the players, and if Michael Carrick can get more out of the players - that's what Darren Fletcher was able to do against Burnley. Unfortunately, they didn't win that game, but you could see sparks of the players’ potential and the levels they can reach.Getty Images
"If the players can receive a boost in confidence, then they can still do well and get positive results this season.
"That might not result in Champions League qualification, but hopefully things will move in the right direction.”
