Kylian Mbappe bagged a brace as Real Madrid claimed a 2-0 victory over Villarreal in LaLiga.
The French striker found the opener two minutes into the second half with a low finish at the near post and scored from the penalty spot in the fourth minute of additional time.
Victory sent Real two points clear of second-place Barcelona, who play Real Oviedo on Sunday, and handed Villarreal a third straight defeat in all competitions.

Akor Adams’ penalty proved to be decisive as Sevilla beat Athletic Bilbao 2-1 and Osasuna earned a 3-1 win over Rayo Vallecano.
Bayern Munich slipped to their first Bundesliga defeat of the season after being beaten 2-1 by Augsburg.
Bayern had lost just once all season to Arsenal in the Champions League in November and initially took the lead through Hiroki Ito’s header in the 23rd minute.
However, Augsburg responded with two goals in the space of six minutes towards the end of the match as Arthur Chaves struck before Han-Noah Massengo bagged the winner in the 81st minute.

A stunning second-half display saw Hoffenheim go five games unbeaten in the Bundesliga with a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Arnaud Kalimuendo had sent Frankfurt ahead before efforts from Max Moerstedt, Ozan Kabak and an Aurele Amenda own goal completed the turnaround for third-placed Hoffenheim.
They remain one point ahead of RB Leipzig, who returned to winning ways with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Heidenheim thanks to a destructive eight-minute period where Ridle Baku, Antonio Nusa and David Raum all struck.

In Serie A, Tasos Douvikas scored a brace as high-flying Como hammered Torino 6-0 to move just outside of the top four.
Douvikas opened the scoring before Martin Baturina extended their advantage and Lucas da Cunha’s successful spot-kick in the 59th minute kicked off a damaging second half for the visitors.
Seven minutes later, Douvikas bagged his second and goals from Nicolas Kuhn and Maxence Caqueret piled more misery on Torino, who fell to their fourth straight league defeat.
Elsewhere, Fiorentina’s 2-1 defeat to Cagliari saw them stay in the relegation zone after fellow strugglers Lecce saw out a goalless draw against Lazio.
In Ligue 1, Ethan Nwaneri scored on debut as Marseille beat Lens 3-1.
