Midweek Premier League action returns for the first time this season with Newcastle United hosting Tottenham Hotspur at St. James' Park on Tuesday night.
The Magpies will be looking to build upon their impressive 4-1 victory away to Everton on the weekend, whereas Spurs are in desperate need of a victory having lost 2-1 to Fulham - extending their ongoing winless streak in the Premier league to four matches.
A win for either side will see them bounce back into the top half the the table as both sides have struggled to find consistency this season.
Last season's fixture saw Newcastle come out on top with a 2-1 win, with currently in-form winger Harvey Barnes netting in that one.
Tottenham fans may feel extra sceptical heading into this fixture as they have not seen their side win in their last three appearances at St. James' Park, conceding 12 goals in the process.
The Tuesday night kick-off will be greatly anticipated by many, as there has been three or more goals in the last nine Premier League meetings between the two.

"Every opponent we face in the Premier League is so difficult and now we face Tottenham, who are a very good team with their own strengths. We'll put our plan in place to try to find a way to win."

“Sometimes you're in a spell where it's difficult, which it is right now. But there's only one way, it's going forward and do everything you can to get out of it together. So, there's only one thing, we keep going and do everything we can to win."

It is hard to put your chips on either side. Romero should return from his yellow card suspension and Spurs tend to find more success on their travels.
However, you have to question their current dressing room morale and Newcastle boast a more prolific attack, particularly at home. That should be the difference.
Prediction: Newcastle 2-1 Spurs
