Goalkeeper: Bart Verbruggen (Brighton)

Nottingham Forest aren't the scariest team in front of goal, but they attacked in waves against the Seagulls, and Verbruggen stood tall to preserve the clean sheet.

Right back: Joe Gomez (Liverpool)

In addition to playing a part in Liverpool's clean sheet, Gomez was involved in both of their goals, assisting on Cody Gakpo's stoppage-time goal.

Centre back: Malick Thiaw (Newcastle)

Scored two goals in Newcastle's big win over Everton, and also won seven duels and made five clearances.

Centre back: Josko Gvardiol (Manchester City)

Gvardiol was so good over the weekend that he makes this list despite giving away a penalty. The Man City defender has taken on a leadership role and chips in with goals, as he did against Leeds.

Left back: Maxim De Cuyper (Brighton)

He played a more advanced role against Forest and scored the game's opening goal. De Cuyper also created two big chances off four key passes in a noteworthy attacking performance.

Midfielder: Reece James (Chelsea)

An absolute revelation in the Chelsea midfield against Arsenal, the Blues' captain held things together after Moises Caicedo's sending off.

Midfielder: Lewis Miley (Newcastle United)

The teenager was a massive part of the Magpies' attacking outburst at Everton, registering a goal and an assist in the victory.

Midfielder: Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United)

When the Red Devils are successful, it's usually because Fernandes is involved. And the United captain was very involved in their win over Crystal Palace, assisting two of the team's three goals from his free-kick mastery.

Forward: Phil Foden (Manchester City)

Foden played as if he had heard the criticism of his recent performances and took it personally, scoring at the beginning and end of Man City's victory over Leeds.

Forward: Igor Thiago (Brentford)

Another two goals for the Brazilian puts him on 10 for the season, a fantastic output after his slow start to Premier League life last season.

Forward: Cody Gakpo (Liverpool)

Gakpo was directly involved in both of Liverpool's goals, scoring one and assisting the other, in their desperately-needed win.
