It was Inter and Napoli who took the headlines from this weekend's action in Serie A, as the two title rivals went head-to-head in a game that proved they are both firmly in the fight to lift the Scudetto this season.

Elsewhere, Milan stumbled once again, but it was a better weekend for Roma, while Atalanta continued their run as one of the league's most in-form sides.

Here's a round-up of the big talking points from Serie A's matchday 20, with two games still left to play on Monday evening.

Super Scot saves champions

There was no doubt where this weekend's main event was, as the San Siro hosted a meeting of last season's top two, who are both gunning for this season's Scudetto, too.

Napoli arrived in Milan having already beaten Inter this season and they remain undefeated against their title rivals after another Scott McTominay clutch lesson.

The Scottish midfielder has become such a big moments player for the champions, and he once again came up with the goods to earn his team a point against the league leaders.

Federico Dimarco and Hakan Çalhanoğlu twice put Cristian Chivu's men in front, who were looking to extend their lead at the top, but twice it was McTominay who drew Napoli level in a pulsating tie that also saw Antonio Conte sent to the stands after arguing with the fourth official.

The result halts Inter's six-match winning streak, but they remain three points clear at the top of the table, with Napoli a point further back.

Milan wobble again

Not only did Milan fail to take advantage of happenings at the San Siro, they were also seconds away from falling further behind Inter after needing another late, late showing in Florence.

Fiorentina were seconds away from inflicting a first defeat since the opening day on the Rossoneri, until Christopher Nukunku popped up with a stoppage-time equaliser to save a point for Max Allegri's men.

It was a second match in a row where Milan has needed a late leveller and it has seen them drop four points as they look to overhaul Inter at the top of the league.

Luckily, there's still only a three-point gap between them and the leaders, but they have to stop relying on these get-out-of-jail cards if they have actual ambitions of winning the title this season.

Atalanta ones to watch

Atalanta closed in on the European places with a comfortable 2-0 win at home to Torino as they continue their turnaround under Raffelle Palladino.

That was the club's third win on the spin, and they've suffered one defeat in their last six, form which has propelled them up the league and just three points off a Europa Conference League spot.

They are now part of a cluster of teams that includes Juventus, Como, and Roma, all of which are fighting for a European berth, making for a fascinating race in the second half of the season.

If Atalanta can continue this form, while also still punching their weight in this season's Champions League, then their fans could be in for an exciting few months ahead.
