2025 was yet another reminder as to why the Premier league is regarded as the best in the world.

From records getting smashed to off-the-field drama, this years edition of England's top flight had it all.

So as we approach the end of yet another spectacular year of Premier League football, DAZN News takes a look at ten of its outstanding moments and memories.

1. 20 times

The 2024/2025 edition of the Premier league saw Liverpool crowned as champions, claiming their twentieth English top division title of all time.

The Reds comfortably won the league with 84 points and officially became England's best on April 27 when they demolished Tottenham Hotspur 5-1 at Anfield.

This was an extra special moment for Liverpool, as not only did it put them level on titles with fierce rivals Manchester United, but it was their first Premier League title that their fans could publicly celebrate - their last and only other Premier League title win was during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

2. Goodison farewell

This year was the last of Everton playing their Premier League home matches at the notorious Goodison Park.

After 133 years at one of English football's most iconic stadiums, the Toffees finally completed their transition to the newly built Hill Dickinson Stadium at the end of the 2024/2025 season.

Everton capped off their reign at Goodison in fitting fashion, beating Southampton 2-0.

3. The year of the underdog

Whilst 2025's Premier League champions may not have been underdogs, the rest of the table was full of them.

Crystal Palace secured European football with an incredible FA Cup win, Newcastle ended their 56-year trophy drought in the league cup, and seventeenth-placed Tottenham Hotspur salvaged their season with a remarkable UEFA Europa League victory.

2025 also saw Manchester United nearly get entangled in a relegation scrap, whilst Nottingham Forest secured European football for the first time in 29 years thanks to an impressive seventh-place finish in the league.

4. Nuno vs Marinakis

As just mentioned Forest impressed in the league, securing European football for the first time in nearly three decades.

But in 2025, they will be remembered for their drama off the pitch just as much as their triumphs on it.

Following a 2-2 draw at home to relegation bound Leicester, Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis stormed the pitch after full time to confront head coach Nuno Espirito Santo.

Disgruntled with what was considered two points dropped in the Champions League race, the Greek owner wasted no time in letting his feelings be heard.

The moment of drama caused plenty of controversy as well as somewhat of a domino effect, as since then Forest have been through three different managers and currenly find themsleves near the relegation zone.

5. Salah's record collection

2025 in the Premier League saw several players and teams break Premier League records, none more so than Mohamed Salah.

The Egyptian king became the highest goal contributor for a single club in the Premier League when he assisted Hugo Ekitike in a 2-0 win against Brighton. Salah's assist was his 277th  direct goal contribution for Liverpool in the league, overtaking Wayne Rooney's 276 for Manchester United.

Salah also became the first player to ever win the individual treble of the golden boot, playmaker award and player of the season.

He overtook Sergio Aguero's goal tally of 184 to become the Premier League's all-time top foreign goalscorer, whilst also breaking the record for the most goal contributions away-from-home in a single Premier League season.

Mohamed Salah broke multiple other records in what was a remarkable 2025 both for him and his club.

6. Haaland's rapid 100

Erling Braut Haaland continued to be supernatural in 2025 by smashing the record for the fastest player to reach 100 goals in the Premier League.

In a thrilling 5-4 win away to Fulham, City's bagsman scored a brace to take him over the 100 goal mark in just 111 games.

The Norweigan overtook Alan Shearer's previous record of 100 goals in 124 games.

7. Liverpool break transfer record, twice...

Outside of action on the field, 2025 also provided us with some exciting and shocking transfer sagas, most notably Liverpool twice breaking the British transfer fee record.

The Reds first broke the bank by spending £116M on Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz.

They then topped their own record by splashing out £125M on Newcastle bagsman Alexander Isak later on in the summer window.

8. Tyne-Wear return

This December saw the return of one of English football's great rivalries in Sunderland vs Newcastle.

After a nine-year absence from the Premier League fixture list, the two foes from the North-East clashed at the Stadium of Light in what was comfortably the best atmosphere of the year.

The Black Cats came out on top with a 1-0 victory, extending their undefeated streak in the league against Newcastle to ten matches.

9. Game of the season

2025's Premier League game of the season came at a late time, but was certainly worth the wait.

Manchester United hosted AFC Bournemouth at Old Trafford in a thrilling 4-4 draw.

Wonder strikes, end-to-end action and questionable goalkeeping, the game had all the neccessary drama to earn its title as the Premier League's game of the calendar year.

Despite the back and forth action, the Red Devils threw away a lead on three seperate occasions making them winless in their last three Premier League matches at home.

Whilst United may be disappointed in dropping two valuable points in the Champions League race, they can count themselves lucky that they kept their outrageous record of not losing a game at Old Trafford when leading at half time in 394 matches.

10. Southampton narrowly avoiding total embarassment

2025 will certianly be a year Southampton fans will want to put at the back of their mind.

The team from the South Coast had a disastrous 24/25 Premier League campaign, finishing rock bottom and becoming the first team to be mathematically relegated with seven games still to play.

However, there was some silver lining for the Saints.

21 games into the season Southampton were sitting on a measly six points, prompting much talk about them beating Derby County's record-low tally of 11 Premier league points in a season.

However, from that point onwards they managed to pick up the extra six points required to avoid the title of being the worst Premier League side of all time, confirming their status with a shock 0-0 draw at home to Manchester City.
