Viktor Gyokeres led the way with two goals as Arsenal dominated Atletico Madrid on Tuesday to remain perfect in the 2025-26 Champions League.

The Gunners once again rode a big second half in en route to the 4-0 victory, which also featured goals from Gabriel Magalhães and Gabriel Martinelli.

It was Arsenal's third straight multi-goal victory to start the competition, with all three games also ending in clean sheets for the Premier League leaders.

On a personal level, the two-goal performance was a bit of a relief for Gyokeres, who had come under some criticism for his relatively low goal figures since joining the club over the summer.

The 27-year-old is now up to five goals in 12 total appearances for the Gunners, but he's happiest for the club as they continue their winning ways across competitions.

"I am very pleased," Gyokeres told UEFA. "They had some good opportunities but I think we controlled it overall.

"To score four and keep a clean sheet again is very good. We always keep going. We do the things right when we defend and when we get the chances we are extremely strong in taking those.

"Both [of my] goals were great. I try to do my best all the time and work hard, contribute with different stuff and the goals would have come sooner or later.

"We want to do well, we want to win football matches but there's a long journey to go. We will take it game-by-game, even if that sounds boring."

Gyokeres' manager, Mikel Arteta, highlighted the things that the striker does aside from scoring as vital to Arsenal's success so far this season, and he expressed joy that the Swede remained dedicated to helping the team even when not finding the back of the net.

"Delighted as he fully deserved it," Arteta told Prime Video. "The workrate he brings to the team is outstanding.

"We value a lot of things that he does for the team and it was the biggest smile on his face today and look at his teammates.

"Hopefully this is the start of some beautiful sequences."
