Al Ain will look to spring a surprise and try to stake a passage through to the knockout rounds when they enter the fray this summer at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The UAE heavyweights know that they will have their work cut out in a group headlined by incumbent tournament champions Manchester City, among others.
Yet they arrive with a promising pedigree from their only other visit to the tournament, and may well back themselves to snatch a few upsets in the United States.
But just how did they seal their berth for the revamped Club World Cup, set to take place across the United States between June and July this year? DAZN has all the information.
Al Ain are one of four AFC teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and qualify as the winners of the 2023–24 AFC Champions League.
A two-legged win over Yokohama F. Marinos sealed their berth, and they will take heart from a runner-up finish in their only previous stint at the tournament.
Al Ain have been drawn into Group G, alongside Juventus (Italy), Manchester City (England) and Wydad AC (Morocco).
In order to reach the knockout stages, they must first successfully navigate this opening stage where the top two teams from each group will qualify.
