Flamengo will look to make good on the promise of continental glory three years ago when they return to international competition at the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The Campeonato Brasileiro Série A outfit have a long and famed past among clubs at home, but have so far failed to convert their handful of appearances into silverware.
This time, amid a promising group, they will fancy their chances to progress to the knockout stages - and there, they will take aim at one of the biggest prizes on offer.
But just how did they seal their berth for the revamped Club World Cup, set to take place across the United States between June and July this year? DAZN News has all the information.
Flamengo are one of six CONMEBOL teams competing in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup and qualify as the winners of the 2022 Copa Libertadores.
The Brazilian outfit defeated domestic rivals Athletico Paranaense in a 1-0 encounter to lift the trophy, thanks to an injury-time finish from Gabriel Barbosa.
Flamengo have been drawn into Group D, alongside Chelsea (England), Espérance de Tunis (Tunisia) and LAFC (USA).
In order to reach the knockout stages, they must first successfully navigate this opening stage where the top two teams from each group will qualify.
