German basketball is making headlines these weeks: after winning the world championship title in 2023, the men's team recently won the European championship. After decades of international stagnation, the women's team has also played its way into the upper echelons of the world rankings. Seventh in the Olympics (2024), fifth in the European Championships (2025) – and next year, the World Championships at home in Berlin. The new DAZN mini-series LET'S GO BALLIN' uses various players, clubs and individuals to show where German women's basketball stands in 2025, how the domestic league is assessed and why there is still a lot to be done at a structural level to make fully professional work possible in the first place. In episode 1, we visited the currently injured captain of the national team, Marie Gülich, and shooting star Frieda Bühner shortly before the start of the new season.
