The heart of German football: Dortmund, Schalke, Bochum - between work, rivalry & tears

Germany's largest conurbation, the Ruhr region, is also the heart of football and home to Borussia Dortmund, FC Schalke 04 and VfL Bochum 1848. Their fans, iconic stadiums and rivalries are the focus of the second season of the ‘Bundesliga Original Series’. At the end of the second half of the 2024/25 season, the series shows the highs and lows of the individual clubs. In the first episode, world champions and club legends Benedikt Höwedes and Kevin Großkreutz look back on epic moments alongside icons of the Ruhr region such as Peter Neururer, Lars Ricken, Gerald Asamoah and Hans-Joachim Watzke - from the Klopp era to Dortmund's Champions League triumph in 1997 to Schalke's UEFA Cup victory in the same year to Bochum's relegation battle in 2024 and 2025.
