Thursday night rolls into Mile High, where the Denver Broncos (7-2) defend home turf against a Las Vegas Raiders (2-6) side desperate to stop the rot.
The Broncos have been flying, with six straight wins behind second-year quarterback Bo Nix, who’s tied for third in the league with 17 passing touchdowns and has added three more on the ground.
Nix hasn't been flawless, but he is fearless, and with Courtland Sutton and Troy Frankling providing weapons through the air and JK Dobbins keeping things moving on the ground, the offense has been getting the job done.
On the other side of the ball, this Broncos' defense is built to hunt. Nik Bonitto, Jonathon Cooper, and Zach Allen have combined to form a relentless pass rush that leads the league with 40 sacks.
Even without injured Defensive Player of the Year Patrick Surtain, the Broncos’ secondary is deep enough to make life miserable for Las Vegas.
The Raiders arrive short-handed and short on momentum. Quarterback Geno Smith leads the league in interceptions (11) and just lost his top receiver, Jakobi Meyers, to Jacksonville at the trade deadline.
If there’s a glimmer of hope, it’s in Brock Bowers, who erupted in Week 9, and speedy wideout Tre Tucker.
Defensively, of course, there’s Maxx Crosby - one of the few players capable of turning a game by himself - and linebacker Devin White, who's enjoying a career resurgence as the team's leading tackler.
Oddsmakers have the Broncos as solid favorites, and it makes sense. 10th in our latest power rankings, Denver is confident, clicking, and keeps finding ways to win close games
The Raiders, meanwhile, currently 30th in our power rankings, will need to produce something special to knock off one of the league's hottest teams.
The stage is set for Thursday Night Football - live and in full on DAZN’s NFL Game Pass. And with the latest deal, you can have a front row seat to this and every game for the rest of the season for just £34.99.
Empower Field at Mile High, Denver, Colorado
The Raiders lead the series 73-56-2, but the Broncos hold the recent advantage, having won the last two meetings.
The Raiders are up against it here. Crosby and Bowers have enough talent to create problems for any team, but Nix, Sutton, and Denver's defense should power the Broncos to victory.
Broncos 30 - 17 Raiders
