We're eight weeks into the NFL season, and there are surprises around the league. It's still early, but some of the teams we initially thought would be contenders are slipping, while many of the underdogs have surpassed expectations.
As Week 9 begins on Thursday night with Ravens vs. Dolphins, live with NFL Game Pass on DAZN (excl. the US and China), let's take a look at how teams currently stack up in our power rankings.
1) Indianapolis Colts (7-1, -): Head and shoulders, the best team in the NFL.
2) Green Bay Packers (5-1-1, -): Jordan Love outdueled his protege and showed why he's the best quarterback in the NFC and perhaps the league.
3) Detroit Lions (5-2, -): A bye last week with a key division game against the Vikings on tap.
4) Philadelphia Eagles (6-2, -): The Super Bowl champions are back on track with Saquon Barkley having his best game of the season.
5) Buffalo Bills (5-2, -): Last week's bye came at a good time as they blew out the Panthers. Now, the big game against the Chiefs is here.
6) Kansas City Chiefs (5-3, Up 1): A shaky first half, but Patrick Mahomes got it going with Travis Kelce and had another three-touchdown pass performance.
7) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2, Down 1): Not the prettiest game, but a win is a win.
8) Seattle Seahawks (5-2, -): A bye week with a trip to Washington, D.C. on Sunday night.
9) Los Angeles Rams (5-2, -): A bye week with a trip to New Orleans looming. Can Matthew Stafford keep the momentum going?
10) New England Patriots (5-2, Up 1): Drake Maye with another good performance with three touchdown passes. Is he an MVP candidate?
11) Denver Broncos (6-2, Up 1): Bo Nix is on a roll as the Broncos won their ninth consecutive game at home.
12) Los Angeles Chargers (5-3, Up 4): The Vikings were exactly what Justin Herbert and the Chargers offense needed.
13) Chicago Bears (4-3, Down 2): Did the Bears really believe Lamar Jackson was playing as their defense sure looked like he was?
14) San Francisco 49ers (5-3, Down 1): A surprising loss to the Texans. Need to get Brock Purdy back to get the offense rolling along.
15) Pittsburgh Steelers (4-3, Down 1): The defense let them down as the offense did their part.
16) Dallas Cowboys (3-4-1, Down 1): The offense is showing up every week but the defense is definitely missing Micah Parsons.
17) Jacksonville Jaguars (4-3, Up 5): Even though they had a bye, they move as everyone else around them lost. A potential bounce-back game on Sunday as they face the Raiders.
18) Houston Texans (3-5, Up 6): Where has the team we saw on Sunday been all year as that was their best all-around performance to date?
19) Minnesota Vikings (3-4, Down 2): Paging J.J. McCarthy.
20) Atlanta Falcons (3-5, Down 2): Two straight bad performances coming off their win over the Bills.
21) New York Giants (2-5, Down 1): The score doesn't indicate how well the Giants played. One bad call by the officials turned the complexion of the game.
22) Carolina Panthers (4-4, Down 3): The tough road continues this week in Green Bay.
23) Baltimore Ravens (2-5, Up 3): A season-saving win over the Bears, and now Lamar Jackson returns on Thursday.
24) Cincinnati Bengals (3-5, Down 3 ): They came out flat and paid for it in the worst way possible, handing the Jets their first win of the season.
25) Arizona Cardinals (2-5, -): The bye week came at the right time after the nail-biting loss to the Packers. Now, they get a prime time spot on Monday night in Dallas.
26) Washington Commanders (3-5, Down 3): Not looking good here, especially with Jayden Daniels missing more time.
27) Cleveland Browns (2-6, -): Where is Shadeur Sanders?
28) Miami Dolphins (2-6, Up 3): So, the fans needed to call for the firings of the entire coaching staff, and Tua Tagovailoa needed to throw his team under the bus? Ok, then.
29) New York Jets (1-7, Up 3): Finally! Give Justin Fields credit. He showed up in a massive way when even his own owner doubted him. The sign of a true leader.
30) Las Vegas Raiders (2-4, Down 1): Hopefully, the rest helped, and they can put in a better performance against the Jaguars.
31) New Orleans Saints (1-7, Down 1): Tyler Shough, come on down.
32) Tennessee Titans (1-6, Down 4): Firing the head coach wasn't the recipe for success. What can the Titans do?
