Liam Cameron can breathe life into his career this weekend as he looks to bounce back from a heartbreaking loss to Ben Whittaker earlier this year.

The Sheffield light-heavyweight is giving this fight everything and for the first time he has taken extra care with his preparations by bringing in high profile experts for both his diet and strength work.

At the backend of last year, Cameron demonstrated so much of the potential that has long been expected of him when he gave Whittaker so much to think about when the rivals collided in Saudi Arabia.

Cameron was performing brilliantly in the fight before the bout went to scorecards early after Whittaker was injured when both men were bundled over the top rope in scenes that were more suited to professional wrestling.

In an immediate rematch, Cameron was buzzed early and despite showing plenty of toughness in his career to this point, he was not allowed time to recover as he was stopped in the second round.

With his reputation now in a better place than previous years thanks to his brilliant effort against the Whittaker on a marquee show, Cameron is more focused and a new version of himself is expected on Saturday night when he faces Troy Jones in Manchester on Saturday night.

The light-heavyweight division is bubbling nicely both on the British and world scene, and Cameron is no longer cutting corners as he gets ready for his next fight.

“I’ve never had no money to have a massive training camp,” said Cameron during an exclusive sit-down with DAZN News

“This time I've got the best nutritionist. Works at a London hospital. I’ve also got the best strength and conditioning coach in the U.K. who works with UFC champions and Callum Smith so that’s only gonna make me better.

“I used to do my own diet. I always think that if I know best then I know best and nobody is changing me. My diet used to be a chicken wrap every day and looking back that’s no good for you. Now I’m eating six meals, and I can do a lot more in training without getting tired.”
