At the introductory press conference with Derek Chisora and Deontay Wilder, the mutual respect was palpable.

Things changed on Thursday, two days before Saturday's heavyweight clash from the O2 Arena, live and exclusively on DAZN PPV. While still respectful, a more serious tone came out of the mouths of Chisora and Wilder.

Wilder (44-4-1, 43 KOs) has struggled of late since losing his WBC title to Tyson Fury in their second fight in February 2020. Admittedly, the confidence was shaken a bit. That has disappeared, and the old "Bronze Bomber" looks to be back when it comes to him speaking on the microphone. Wilder plans to parlay that confidence into the ring and take everything away from Chisora.

"I know that London loves warriors," Wilder said when asked what to expect on Saturday. "But what happens when a warrior come against a freak of nature? Derek brings pressure. But I bring power that ends bloodlines. Derek, he’s come to fight. But I’m coming with detonation. And at the O2 Arena, it will be a fight, and it’s going to end in an explosion.

"It’s going to be live, and it’s going to be real. I can’t wait for it. I hope he brings his heart because I’m going to take that too."

Chisora (36-13, 23 KOs) is known for his come-forward style. And the style plays right into the hands of Wilder, as that's exactly what the American feels is going to be the demise of Chisora.

"He ain’t got to worry about my power," WIlder said. "He’s just got to worry about not seeing it. We know Derek built his name off of pressure. But pressure don’t break me. Pressure only reveals me. And what he’s going to feel is something he’s never felt in his whole career."
