Anthony Joshua’s next move is set to be decided this week as the former heavyweight champion looks to end a lengthy run of inactivity.
Despite the long spell away from the sport, Joshua has been linked to several high-profile clashes including showdowns against Dubois, Tyson Fury, and Jake Paul.
In recent weeks, Eddie Hearn, Joshua’s promoter has hinted that his man could fight in 2025 in a low key bout away from the usual hysteria that accompanies his bouts.
Joshua is planning on having a big 2026 but he needs time in the ring to prepare himself for these contests which is one of the reasons Hearn has been suggesting a run out on one of his upcoming shows.
With the end of the year fast approaching, time is quickly disappearing for Joshua to announce his next move, and Hearn has provided an update on what could be next for the 36-year-old.
"We've already got opponents that we've been talking to about a run out fight," said Hearn when speaking to ESPN.
"But the whole point is to not have to come and do [media obligations] and not have to just chill out, turn up on Wednesday or Thursday, weigh in, wrap your hands and go and fight. It's got nothing to do with, obviously, the financials. It's just to do with getting back into the groove of fighting.
"Because every time he fights, [Joshua] has to go to a stadium and fight in front of 60,000 people in a tough fight. It's almost like just go out and just give me one to get back. We will make a decision this week on Anthony's next fight."
