The final press conference for Joshua Buatsi and Zach Parker's light heavyweight bout on Saturday night descended into chaos after an undercard fighter slapped his opponent with an egg.
Back in February, Chris Eubank Jr pulled off the same stunt when he went face-to-face with Conor Benn at the launch press conference for their grudge match.
This time, neither Eubank Jr nor Benn were anywhere to be seen, but light heavyweight contender Ezra Arenyeka stepped up to slap his rival Billy Deniz around the face with an egg.
Arenyeka quickly disappeared off camera as security got involved, while Deniz initially appeared to see the funny side.
The two men were subsequently kept at a safe distance as they hurled verbal barbs at one another.
This is not the first time Arenyeka has been involved in a controversial incident as he also grabbed headlines after his fight with Ben Whittaker last year.
Arenyeka faced Whittaker on the undercard of Chris Billam-Smith and Richard Riakporhe's world title fight at Selhurst Park in June 2024, and Whittaker cruised to a unanimous decision victory.
However, the most memorable moment from the contest came after the sixth round when Whittaker mocked his opponent by walking him back to his corner.
Arenyeka took exception to the gesture and responded by throwing a headbutt at Whittaker.
He also caught Whittaker with an elbow during the fight but escaped disqualification as the bout went the distance.
Now, Arenyeka has taken centre stage once again, and he may have a nervous wait to see if he will be handed a financial punishment.
Eubank Jr was fined £100,000 by the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) for slapping Benn, and Arenyeka could be at risk of a similar penalty for his behaviour at Thursday's press conference.
