Ezra Taylor has vowed to shut down the emotions when he takes on Willy Hutchinson this weekend in Manchester.
The pair star in a light-heavyweight fight at Co-op Live on the Moses Itauma-Jermaine Franklin bill, live on DAZN.
Both Taylor and Hutchinson have been engaged in a vocal back-and-forth since they first clashed ringside last year.
But with the final prep work done ahead of this crucial bout, the former insists he will not be swayed by bad blood.
"I don't have any emotions," he exclusively told DAZN News. "This is what I do. It's my life. I'm a machine in there.
"Machines don't have emotions. If you go in the ring with your emotions, then you're going to face a bad outcome.
"It's getting bigger and better. I shine bright when under the lights. I want to showcase my skills rather than show off.
"I'm going to solidify in the rankings after Saturday, and spoken about as the best light-heavyweight in Britain today."
It feels like an age has passed since Ezra Taylor and Willy Hutchinson engaged in some argy-bargy last November.
Now, the chance to properly put each other in their places is here, and the former is determined to seize his chance.
Taylor firmly believes he can cut through an already crowded light-heavyweight division and reach world-level soon.
Hutchinson will mark a particular threshold for him to overcome, though. Anything but a win is a body blow for him.
It will be victory at all costs - and we'll find out soon enough if Taylor's money punches can match his mouth's words.
