David Haye is the latest high profile boxing figure to provide his opinion on this week’s fascinating heavyweight encounter between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul .
This Friday, Paul will make the leap to heavyweight to take on Joshua in a fight that some are labelling a mismatch.
Paul will be conceding both size and experience to the British man as he looks to cause one of the biggest upsets in sporting history.
Joshua is a former two-time heavyweight champion, and he is hoping to add further honours to that in 2026 as he continues to be linked to huge fights against Tyson Fury and Daniel Dubois.
Haye, who was eager to test himself against Joshua during his comeback run in 2016, has had his say on where his money would be when analysing the outcome of this week’s fight.
“If I’m a betting man, it’s not really worth betting on Anthony Joshua cause he’s such a heavy favourite,” said Haye when speaking to iFL TV.
“I bet on Jake Paul to win for a no contest, draw, technical draw or something crazy to happen. I bet Jake Paul finds a way to win or get a draw, technical draw, cause you’ll get 10-1 odds.
“I’d say yeah, don’t put your life savings on it but if you’re going to have a little flutter, you’d get something back. I would be the biggest sporting upset if this happens, not just boxing, in any sport, if someone with such a lack of experience at the world level challenges someone who is world level and has proven it.”
