Andy Ruiz has provided Jake Paul with some advice ahead of his big fight with Anthony Joshua on December 19.
Joshua has been inactive since losing to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, but he has grand plans for next year which include a long-awaited showdown with bitter rival Tyson Fury, potentially at Wembley Stadium.
That fight can only happen if Joshua is victorious against Paul as a defeat would be considered a huge embarrassment for the Olympic gold medallist.
In 2019, Ruiz caused one of the biggest upsets in heavyweight history when he floored Joshua four times before the fight was stopped in round seven.
The result meant that Ruiz became world champion, but he was outpointed by Joshua in an immediate rematch.
Ahead of Joshua’s fight with Paul, Ruiz has provided his opinion on the contest, and he has given some guidance to Paul as he looks to cause a bigger upset than the one created by Ruiz.
“Just get him with the right hand,” said Ruiz when speaking to TMZ Sports .
That’s what Jake Paul is looking for the right hand, and if he lands, he could probably do good damage, so a lot of people underestimate Jake Paul but in reality, he’s a good fighter and he’s dedicated, and that’s what I like about him.”
