'Rise to the occasion!' - Fabio Wardley warns Joseph Parker to write him off at own peril
Fabio Wardley will "rise to the occasion" when he faces Joseph Parker this weekend, warning rivals who write him off as a knockout merchant.
The Briton faces the New Zealander this Saturday at London's O2 Arena live on DAZN Pay-Per-View in a top-drawer heavyweight clash.
Oleksandr Usyk reportedly awaits the victor for an undisputed title bout, with Parker arriving as the favourite to make his way to the Ukrainian.
But Wardley, whose destructive power has helped bulldoze a path to the summit, says he is ready to upset expectations at Thursday's press conference.
"Every time I step up, I rise to the occasion," he said at a cordial medial event. "I rise to the challenge. Saturday is going to be no different.
"The separation between where Joe is and where people think I am has been a common theme throughout my career. I relish the challenge.
"I look forward to proving the doubters wrong. Anyone with an educated brain knows it takes more than muscles and strength to knock someone out.
"Just because my record is littered with highlight-reel knockouts, I think people take away from my actual skills which brought me to those moments.
"My record speaks for itself. If you think I'm going to be running around that ring with my right hand cocked, there's a lot more you need to prepare for."
