Regis Prograis and Devin Haney look set to meet in the near future and Josh Taylor is backing the latter to emerge victorious in what is an intriguing matchup at 140lbs.
Haney has tasted undisputed glory at lightweight and he could plan to add more honours to his growing list with a move up in weight to take on Prograis.
The New Orleans man was defeated by Taylor in 2019 but he’s rebounded well and has since become WBC champion.
Haney will represent Prograis’ toughest test since the Taylor setback, and the Scotsman, a contender himself in the same weight category, believes the Las Vegas based star will have too much for his former rival.
“I think that’s a great fight, they’re two very good fighters,” said Taylor when speaking with Boxing News.
"Obviously, I shared the ring with Prograis and me and him had a good dust up, I’ve not shared the ring with Haney, but I’ve met him a couple of times and saw him in training and stuff, he’s very sharp.”
“In my opinion, I just think that Devin Haney is a little bit too young, too fresh, too sharp.”
