Manny Pacquiao's advisor names the three-weight world champion who could be PacMan's next opponent

Manny Pacquiao took Mario Barrios to the limit last month in their WBC welterweight title fight but only came away with a draw as the pound-for-pound legend fell just short of glory on his comeback bout.

Now, the 46-year-old has turned his sights on another world champion as he looks to return to the ring by the end of the year.

According to Pacquiao's advisor Sean Gibbons, the Filipino fighter caught the attention of current WBA lightweight champ Gervonta "Tank" Davis after his showing against Barrios. Gibbons also named WBA welterweight champion Rolando "Rolly" Romero as a possibility as Pacquiao plots his next move.

"There are two names that people want to see, they would like to see Gervonta Davis because for once in his life, he would be the bigger fighter," Gibbons told gambleonline.net. "It’s a very interesting fight. The other is Rolly Romero for the WBA title and those are the two fights I believe the fans want and those are the fights Manny wants."

While he believes Romero would be a fine opponent for Pacquaio, Gibbons thinks Davis is the more likely of the two world champions to step into the ring with "PacMan."

"I think Tank wants the biggest fights out there and I don’t want to put words in his mouth but after the fight Manny had with Mario Barrios, he sold the Tank Davis fight," Gibbons said. "If he looked bad and drew the fight then I don’t think he could’ve sold the fight but after a performance like this, Manny showed the people that he is back and showed Gervonta Davis that he has a lot left in the tank and I believe it’s the people that had to be sold [on Manny’s return] not Tank.

"Now the fans know what Manny has left, I think fans would love to see that fight or against Rolly Romero because he is a good trash talker, he beat Ryan Garcia, he comes to entertain and doesn’t run around like Mario Barrios. It was a disappointing fight, and we took the Mario Barrios fight because we thought he would take it to Manny like a warrior. Rolly and Tank are going to bang with you. Both fights will be looked into and explored. Manny only had eight weeks to train against Mario Barrios, if he had one more month for the fight then he would’ve knocked him out."
