Moses Itauma must be wary of a Dillian Whyte who could bring out his best, says Darren Barker, in what the former middleweight champion dubs as a "crossroads" fight for both.
The WBO #1 ranked contender faces the former WBC interim strap holder on DAZN Pay-Per-View at Riyadh's ANB Arena this weekend in a mouthwatering heavyweight clash.
Whyte has seen diminishing returns in the ring in recent years while the younger Itauma has built a top-drawer catalogue of showreel stoppages to boost his own reputation.
But speaking at Wednesday's open workouts, Barker laid down the reasons why the veteran could pose some problems, all while lauding the younger man's impressive skillset.
"He doesn't want to lose to this man," he said. "He still wants to fulfil his dreams and it shows the ambition that he's got.
"He's a very good fighter, and perhaps this is the test of opponent he needs to get the best out of him.
"But he's in there with a man who not only physically, technically and tactically is on point, but a man who leaves no stone unturned.
"He's a sponge that soaks everything up. It could be game over for everyone else because he's ticking all the boxes.
"He's a very good fighter. There's so many questions here. It really is a crossroads fight, but it is a fantastic fight."
