Tagging George Kambosos Jr with sharp output at will, Richardson Hitchins implored the challenger's corner to stop the fight during the eighth round.

"If you love your son, you'll stop the fight," Hitchins told DAZN's Chris Mannix, revealing the words he hurled.

They did not take heed, so the IBF junior welterweight world title holder took matters into his own hands, cranking a scintillating left hook to the body to crumple Kambosos in pain toward an electric eighth-round TKO victory at the Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and  live worldwide on DAZN , on Saturday night.

Hitchins (20-0, 8 KOs), who landed 205 punches to Kambosos' 57, worked behind the jab brilliantly, using the stick to dictate his real estate in the ring.

During the fifth round, Hitchins hurt Kambosos to the body, sending the challenger reeling in noticeable pain.

Levels above and smelling the blood from there, Hitchins did not immediately step on the gas with output during the sixth round but instead surgically set Kambosos up for what turned out to be an eighth-round stoppage in a dominant first title defense.

Though Teofimo Lopez entered the ring afterwards, Hitchins prioritized a fight with Devin Haney next, instead .
