Rolly Romero shocks Ryan Garcia with unanimous decision win
All fight week long, Rolando 'Rolly' Romero had to hear about Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney on a collision course for a highly-anticipated rematch.
Haney handled his side of things, defeating Jose Ramirez, albeit a lackluster affair. But when it came to Garcia's turn, Romero made sure to play the role of the spoiler.
Romero dropped Garcia with a raucous left hook in the second round and came on strong toward the later rounds to shock "King Ry" with a unanimous decision upset at The Ring’s Fatal Fury: Times Square on Friday night in New York City. Judges scored it 115-112, 115-112, and 118-109 all in favor of Romero on a historic night of boxing that had a ring set up right smack in the middle of "The Crossroads of the World."
