Shakur Stevenson delivered a ninth-round TKO of late replacement Josh Padley to defend his WBC lightweight world title Saturday night in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and live on DAZN.
But Gervonta 'Tank' Davis was not exactly impressed.
The WBA lightweight world champion took to his X account and responded to Stevenson's performance with laughter, posting "LOL."
Well, that did not sit too kindly with Stevenson who fired back on the same social media platform with a caveat.
Stevenson's warning refers to Davis putting his WBA title on the line against Lamont Roach in Brooklyn, New York, and live on pay-per-view, March 1.
Stevenson telling Davis to "stay focused" is also in reference to the collision course they seem to be on that Stevenson does not want to see get derailed. A Roach upset of Davis would do just that.
Davis and Stevenson have long traded verbal jabs through the years, with the latter calling "Tank" out for a mega fight once again Saturday night.
A fight between the two would pit two undefeated lightweight world champions against each other in a mouthwatering clash, stacking Davis' boxing ability and explosive knockout power against Stevenson's hit and don't be hit sweet science brilliance.
