Moses Itauma looks to build on his impressive start to his professional career when he faces Mike Balogun this weekend , live on DAZN , from Glasgow.
Last December, Itauma made himself one of boxing’s most recognisable stars when he stole the show on the Oleksandr Usyk’s vs Tyson Fury rematch show.
Itauma was being opposed by Demsey McKean, and the Australian star was expected to test the young prospect.
Since that performance, Itauma’s name has caught fire, and he is now seen as one of the surest prospects in boxing.
Francis Warren, his manager, and son of Itauma’s promoter, Frank Warren, even went as far to compare him to Lionel Messi.
Another big admirer of Itauma is Tony Bellew, the Liverpool man who once campaigned at heavyweight, has been keeping an eye on Itauma’s progress, and he likes what he has seen so far.
Heading to Scotland this week aiming to keep his momentum going, Itauma will once again be featuring on a huge show as Josh Taylor returns to action against Ekow Essuman.
Just like he did last year, Itauma will be hopeful he can have fight fans talking about him, and Bellew has heaped praise on him heading into his next fight.
“He's the biggest star in British boxing. He's the future. He's the future, that boy," said Bellew when speaking to Cardplayer.com .
"I always thought it might be a size that holds him back, but he's good enough. Oleksandr Usyk has shown size isn't as much. He's a boy. I see that one.”
