WBA featherweight champion Nick Ball is set to make the fourth defence of his title against mandatory challenger Brandon Figueroa on February 7.
Taking place at Liverpool's M&S Bank Arena, and exclusively live on DAZN, Ball is looking to continue his dominance at 126lbs.
Figueroa is no stranger to this big stage. The American is a former world champion after holding the WBA's super bantamweight title and also became the WBC's interim featherweight champion in 2023.
While featherweight is not one of boxing's most popular weight classes, Ball's all-action style inside the ring is quickly making it one for the boxing world to keep an eye on.
Since beating Raymond Ford last year to become the WBA's champion at 126lbs, Ball has quickly cemented himself as one of the best at the weight.
His latest successful defence came in Riyadh in August when he beat the undefeated Sam Goodman by unanimous decision in what was a difficult test.
Following the announcement, Ball's promoter Frank Warren made no secret that Figueroa is a serious problem, but he is confident the Liverpudlian can deliver a win once more in his home city.
“This is a great fight for Liverpool and an extension of our blockbuster beginning to 2026,” Warren said.
“We are so proud of Nick and what he has accomplished and this is a glamour fight, against a recognised American talent, that he fully deserves to have in his home city.
“Figueroa represents a genuine threat, but we believe Nick has the beating of everyone in the division and he will prove this over time.
“Boxing is booming in Liverpool again and we are thrilled to be at the spearhead of this with Nick as the driving force. He delivers a perfect platform for all our other local contenders to showcase themselves on world title cards.”
The undercard for Ball vs. Figueroa will be confirmed in due course.
